Evening swaddled in ochre
red carpet laid out for the night
Dusk perforated by branches
ambitious trees reaching skies
Metamorphosing my knowing
I arrive at the sunset
A seamless lake spread out
calm as consciously unaware
Coy clouds floating over
blushing at their reflection in the lake
A shrill echo escaping the mountains
beckons me to the peaks within me
Long have I dodged the calling
long I have basked in grace
It is time I gave up the absurdity
of being comfortable being just
