Scaling mountains
roping-in peaks
Crossing cold continents
barefeet
Trying to read,
understand and feel
A poem from
another age and language
Braving gales,
angry oceans in tow
Making it unscathed
past steep valleys
Outliving a mortgage,
not falling for osteoporosis
Changing tyre
in the middle of nowhere
No dearth of adventures
to attempt or fail
Biggest of them all yet
for this clod of earth
is to live
unfazed by numbers,
years done,
years left.
un-holding grudges,
burying hatchets,
before returning
to become soil again.
