With that one poem
out of me
Out on the pages
to be written, read,
crumpled, thrown,
torn to pieces
One a day
One at a time
Taking me away
Far from the sounds and sights
that I wish weren't real
With that one page filled
with verses and words
that let me tide over
the tides and the tempest
the many adversities that fill
my days to the brim
With that hour or so spent
staring at the firmament, unblinking
I have earned my way,
the courage to walk through the pain
that awaits through the day
There is a great joy in pain
A bliss unlike any
hidden amid the folds many,
the unpeeled layers of melancholy
unrivalled ever that will be
No better or assured way to be
in the constant throes
of happiness dizzying
than living, dodging, surviving
one after another
mind-made mirage of crises
In the quest to thus
lose myself
to seek, to find me
I wander through the days
and nights sleepless
waiting to dream
the nightmare that will
pale all my dreams unfailing/ unflinching/ without fail
As I yearn to be happy
to conclude the story with the elusive
"Happily ever after"
Unrealised of the folly that follows
"After the Ever"
