They stand silent,
all of them.
Sky, sun, moon,
stars beyond count
remain just as shining/ bright.
Rivers flow unbothered,
seas ebb and tide,
regardless of/ past their tidings.
Trees at times shudder
but soon burst into laughter
tickled by winds uncaring.
Mountains, hills, hillocks
of all shapes and size
Bearing witness yet unmoved
by their plight
as humans go through life
Wars, famines,
tyrant's whims,
fancies of fanatics
Heartbreaks, bereavements,
disillusioned dreams,
eager disappointments
lying in wait.
Is indifference (in) the nature
of nature?
Or only rubbed off off humans
over years of company?
