A grain of sand
lying in a dune nondescript
A lone petal withering away unseen
at the foot of a bloom blossoming
A thorn growing brown and thornier
right under the nose of a rose, fragrant and pink
A feather tumbling to ground
falling from empty firmament
A drop of rain missing the clouds
feeling lost mid-flight
A fallen leaf withering into manure
being trod over uncared
And your own self or anyone else
past the shallow depths of mind or skin
Can you really know anything
beyond your need to use it?
Ignorance must sure be popular
in the realm of humanity
For you know not a mite
outside of it.
