Just another day
drenched in rain
Cast over by clouds
out of place
Sun not too keen
to rise or hover
Sea quiet as a child
reprimanded
Roads sleepy and still
unwilling to go anywhere
Trees dripping remnants
of a cold nightmare
Just another day
of the three hundred this year
that have had rains
unwelcome, intrusive
repetitive for no reason
other than inconvenience
Nature's sense of humour
mocking us again
A joke played upon helplessness
so haughtily human
All the plans elaborate
to take in the day
to be cheery for no reason
other than being alive today
rolled up and left
for just another day yet.
