Within the hairsbreadth of misfortune,
miles from the brook of luck,
I find myself pondering over
the distance I've covered,
in trying to run from myself.
Yet, within me I hear
loud, crisp and clear,
like an indefatigable oar,
Reason trying to wade me toward
the precipice of knowing.
A free-fall awaits.
A bottomless void.
Life's quest to un-live itself
to escape death.
A fortune dodged each breath
to unbecome the fetter that is
forged in the fire of ignorance.
Like you all,
I was born enlightened as well.
