No more worrying over right, wrong
or a decision too difficult to make
in the dichotomy of morality or sense
Days, dates, democracy, climate,
and the many tyrants unchecked
reduced to a mere joke
played upon someone else
A mute spectator you become
and so remain
without ears or eyes
to add to the opinion or voice,
which doesn't matter anyway
a sunless winter
stretched across horizons
of time and space
your last and lasting experience
the sheer finality of it,
no room for returns
or change of mind
Once you're dead
You're as dead as a dead can be dead
And go on being dead
without ever again
having to dodge or fear death
though you can't always tell
one from another
those who still draw breath
and you, so dead.
