Colours, chaos,
aromas of hubbub,
and melee of bargain
A shrewd one at times
on either side of the green
negotiating a bunch of coriander or mint
As tomatoes blush amid weary onions red
the day slips through hours
taking the prices with it
I stroll lazily,
eyes almost closed
taking in scents, the feel peerless
I buy some cabbage
and some beans nameless
knowing too well
the sheer joy of being here
is more than I could
pay for or barter with
the drear, dull, grey
vegetable of a routine
that awaits me through the week
