Walking down a street
or up a lane
if you wish
Bargaining over
a bunch of coriander
at a farmer's market
Hurrying over
a delayed lunch,
running to catch a bus
Wearing a traffic light down,
hiding from a blinker
of a car unmoving
Taking a shower,
a nap, a stroll
or a whatever
Doing this or that
or not doing that
or this either
When are you,
when are you not,
a poet?
Perhaps only when
you are not trying
to be or not to be it
Giving into
every verse's whim
without a say or worse
Letting a poem
make you and not
the other way around.
