Walking in the rain

Updated: Feb 29, 2024

Air eerie, quiet

Wind holding breath

Bracing the rains,

braving the lightning

Baring the comforts

I kept walking

Coming upon a lake

shallow yet deep asleep

Throwing a pebble

across its surface

I skipped a few decades

coming face to face

The child within me

forced to suffocate

moment to moment

of being a stranger to myself

A grown-up who sees

rain only as inconvenience

coming in the way of life

a job that it had become
