Sneaking past lips,
slipping on tongues unaware,
they escape silence
not leaving a scratch on the palate
or tearing a paper
Not hurting an eye
that sees them
or shaming the mind
that conceives them
Not burning a hole in the ear
that bears them forth
to their unsuspecting target
Riding the air
unmindful of the weight
of each syllable
They travel faster
than any contradiction
Making them all up enroute -
all the rumours,
all the weapons,
all the thoughts that escaped
the fortress of quiet
Don't go by their unassuming
curves or cursive appearance
Many a mighty have crestfallen
by their mere utterance
Not just mightier
than any sword
They are the most
vengeful of tyrants
The only that dare
tease and tame
silence out of silence
